Get Ready for Spring

Get Ready for a Spring Awakening!
from  Vicki Josslyn's Real Estate Report

Our good friend Punxsutawney Phil didn't see his shadow on Groundhog Day which means that we should expect to see spring a little earlier this year! For those of you who are still scraping ice and snow off of your windshields before you head to work, this news will no doubt cheer you up.

Here are a few ways for you to start planning now for your spring home makeover.

Step one: make a plan.

Is it a matter of just repainting a room or remodeling your bathroom? What's the scope of your desired project? What kind of man power or financial sacrifice is it going to require of you and your family? Now's the perfect time to start making preparations, from creating a project budget to hiring a contractor, to ensure you're prepared to really tackle the house when spring officially hits.

Step two: identify what's hot and what's not (for you).

Once you know what you're going to do, figure outhow it's going to look. Do you want to make a bold, trendy statement? Do you want a classic, timeless feel? Either way, you want to make sure your home has your own personal touch to it since you do, indeed, have to live in it. Don't choose something just because you feel like you have to. (For example: if the hottest trend right now is burnt orange shag carpet but you're just not feeling it,that's okay.)

Step three: clear a path.

Once you've got a plan and a direction, it's time to clear a path - literally. Clearing away clutter and getting rid of superfluous things in your home will give you a fresh, clean perspective. The shrubs will be groomed back, if you will, and you'll really be able to see what you're working with. If you're repainting a room, take down decorations and decide which ones you really want to keep displayed. If you're planning to remodel your bathroom, get rid of any appliances or toiletry items that may be cramping your style. By doing this, you may discover that you want to take your project in a completely different direction!
Despite the fact that it's still winter (more obviously in some places than in others) have no fear! Spring is not too far off. Before long, flowers will be blooming in your new patio garden, or birds will be singing outside your newly repainted shutters. Take these last few weeks of winter to get ready for a fresh new start!

Great Insight!!!  You have to get off the dime and get started!
Have a great time!!!
