Colorful Mums: An Autumn Window Box

A Simple Idea
to Bring
A Splash of Color

With the bedding plants in most areas of the country die due to the cool temperatures of fall, many home owners are replacing these spring/summer varieties with colorful Fall varieties, like pansies.

One of the most venerable and popular plants for Fall color is the versatile and perennial Mum.  The absolute seemingly endless color variety and spectrum as well as the single and double blossom varieties make the Mum a favorite at many homes.

Yet here Better Homes and Gardens provide a neat idea to change out the summer window box with some lovely Mums.  You will want to read this article as Mums ususally need lots of space to branch out and spread their "wings".

Though I have never had to garden in window boxes, I do love to see windows decorated with
seasonal color via window boxes.  If that is your favorite garden method, you will love this article.

         Happy Fall Planting!!

Fall Colors

That little nip in the window and those showers all day herald Fall's arrival.   Yes, it has been officially Fall(by the calendar) for a couple of weeks.

Yet there is nothing like the Fall Colors to have us all remembering the beauty and the joy of the season.   Better Home and Gardens shares a great example of some of the best color!

Be sure to head to the mountains to see the color!
