Enjoy the 4th of July!! Remember the freedom We All Enjoy!!

On the 4th of July,  it is so very easy just to think of it as just another day off with the family.   Picnics, Family Reunions, baseball and softball tourneys, trips to Dairy Queen with dripping cones and a day at the your favorite beach(or the one you are vacation at) are all awesome parts of this holiday.

Yet none of us would be here if it wasn't for brave men and women over 200 years ago that risk fame and fortune as traitors to the greatest empire of the time.   We cook burger while the struggle to get supplies to hungry volunteers in the really rag tag army that came together  based on the belief of freedom from tyranny.
We  race after our children in the park as the family gathers for the reunion while youngster barely teenagers may have  been  running from seasoned British troop, hoping to find a hiding spot in the brush and woods that they knew so well.

Celebrate the 4th by celebrating the men and women that gave us this chance to celebrate by first declaring their freedom over 200 years ago.

We continue to declare "Freedom"

Let us remember

ROASTED LAMB CHOPS WITH LAVENDER FENNEL SEA SALT
If you're largely underwhelmed by many of the spice blends available on the market shelves, you're not alone. They often appear dry and dull, lacking in vibrancy. The easy solution is to make your own. With any number of dried herbs and good sea salt, the possibilities are endless. Start with one ingredient and let it guide you. Lamb pairs beautifully with each one of the following herbs, but blended together, the sum is even better than its parts.

The salt recipe makes more than enough for the lamb dish. With extra Lavender Fennel Sea Salt on the counter, you'll be sprinkling this flavorful blend on your chicken, eggs, potatoes, and steak for days.

Be Safe on the 4th....Reduce Home Fires

Be Careful on July 4th!!!

I always loved fireworks as a kid.  Without a doubt, today's limits on fireworks are much different than back in the dark ages.  Yet, there still lots of fun to be had.

But with the tinder dry conditions around the country, 2012 is a year to take care.  No one wants to burn down their house or a neighbor's home or start a brush fie.

Consider the following precautions:

1.  Contact Local Fire Department or their website for "no burn"
        notices

2.   Shoot off only legal fireworks in open spaces outdoors only.

3.   Do not point, throw, toss, project any lit firework in the
direction of any structures(houses, shed, playground
        equipment.

4.   Keep open flames and lit punks separate from unlit fireworks.

5.   Have bucket of water, running hose and/or fire extinguisher
ready available anytime fireworks are being used.

6.   Always handle fireworks only in the presence of a responsible
       adult.

Have fun on the 4th!!!  Enjoy a swim, a barbecue and lots of time with friends and family.
